Realistically, it doesn't need full DBA, but it does need to create the sql user account for the computer that the client is being logged in from. it's stupid as hell.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05045853548760665900noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7663198687270054599.post-30860628836591894992017-04-10T12:22:48.744-07:002017-04-10T12:22:48.744-07:00the HSI password is wstinolthe HSI password is wstinolThatOneGuyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08470080845720626388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7663198687270054599.post-4491362955471994342017-04-10T12:22:21.965-07:002017-04-10T12:22:21.965-07:00wstinolwstinolThatOneGuyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08470080845720626388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7663198687270054599.post-78906258749476264632016-06-06T18:07:34.948-07:002016-06-06T18:07:34.948-07:00If everything was configured correctly you shouldn...If everything was configured correctly you shouldn't have had any issues and your users shouldn't have received prompts. This type of issue is very quick and easy to fix as long as you're willing to grant the required permissions or run the Recreate DB Users utility, which can grant them or clean up workstation users carried over from the old box. The documentation (MRG) that would have helped is the "Database Installation Guide". This guide should have been followed for the setup of the new SQL box. It describes how the thick client accesses SQL, what permissions it needs, and the prompt you received. Based on the security concerns you brought up in your post, I would also recommend some good information about the SQL authentication in the OnBase SysAdmin guide as of version 13. Open a version 13 or 14 SysAdmin guide and search for "Changing Database User Name Passwords" and "Disable workstation account creation". The changing of database user names was available well before version 13, but it was only covered in a separate manual before. I hope this helps anyone who may be visiting this blog.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15998474347877065896noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7663198687270054599.post-35123183892820497592015-11-16T19:38:04.064-07:002015-11-16T19:38:04.064-07:00Trying again.
